Hey there, Manuscript Workers!
I mentioned a few weeks ago that this newsletter would be leaving the Substack platform soon, and the time is now here.
If you are already subscribed (i.e. you’re reading this in your inbox) you should automatically continue to receive the newsletter via email. It will look a little different—better, I hope—but you should not need to expend any particular effort to keep getting my messages.
I will be taking a couple weeks off from writing the newsletter to manage the transition, but if all goes according to plan, you’ll receive my next newsletter on February 28th, or March 6th at the latest.
(My March 6th newsletter will feature a conversation with Dr. Matthew D. Morrison about his new book, Blacksound: Making Race and Popular Music in the United States, so you won’t want to miss it.)
If March comes and you notice that you are no longer receiving my emails, you may have somehow gotten dropped off the list during the transition. If that happens, you will be able to easily resubscribe at newsletter.manuscriptworks.com. You can also use that URL right now to subscribe under a new email address if you wish.
I will eventually shut down the archive of past newsletters on Substack, but you can always find the best of my advice about scholarly writing, publishing, and editing on my website at manuscriptworks.com/archive.
Thank you so much for reading the Manuscript Works Newsletter for the past five years! See you soon!
Good luck with the transition!
