Book proposal workshop today
Hi Manuscript Workers,
I know that August is scramble time for a lot of you who are preparing for a new semester, so I’m going to keep the next few newsletters short and sweet.
Today’s is a quick note to remind you that I’m running a workshop in just a few hours—at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern—about how to write a book proposal that will stand out in the eyes of scholarly publishers.
I’ll be decoding publisher expectations and sharing tips on how to avoid the most common pitfalls so that your proposal leaves editors feeling confident in your project and interested in seeing more.
All who register will get lifetime access to a recording of the workshop plus a set of supporting materials. You don’t have to attend live to get the recording, but you do need to register by 8:30am Pacific today (that’s when enrollment will close).
This is the last time I’ll be running this workshop publicly until 2023, so I hope to see you there!
One other thing — I’m currently offering a discount on my Book Proposal Shortcut program in honor of back-to-school time. I was originally intending to offer the discount to workshop participants only, but I’ve decided to open it up to newsletter readers as well. Use coupon code WORKSHOP to get 10% off the Shortcut before August 18th.
If you’d like a structured plan to get your proposal done this semester, plus a library of sample documents and the chance to ask questions and meet with me along the way, check out the Book Proposal Shortcut for Busy Scholars.
I’m happy to answer questions about the program and whether it’s the right fit for your current needs — reply to this email and it’ll come straight to my inbox.
